Others have personally told me this is their main problem with Fall River Health and I see another complaint on Google about this.
Update October 2017:
I've only had to go to the clinic here two or three times now, but each time I end up having to go to this one, I have to wait at least 45 mins even with my scheduled appointment time. It's ridiculous. They should really get things figured out so patients don't have to wait forever to be seen.
There is no place queue up - just chairs around tables, etc. in the middle of a large room. since there is one door & no window in these two rooms you have to carefully watch those rooms to see when a patient (or staff person) leaves a room, giving you the opportunity to get up & go into the room to check in.
I've been to the walk in clinic 3 or 4 times now and always have a good experience. Sometimes i wait a little, no more than half an hour, which I expect when I just walk-in. Everyone I have interacted with has been very friendly and professional (Denise in reception, nurse Bonnie, several others). Good job guys!
She probably saw no one standing in the doorway (seems impolite with the privacy concerns now) so assumed no one was waiting to see her. Because this is the general waiting area the staffer doesn't know if you sitting there waiting to check or waiting for someone else who is seeing a Dr.
considering this "hospital" is so close to the reservation, they should ACCEPT IHS insurance and patients. we had an emergency with a FULL BLOOD Lakota and had to drive an hour to the rez to get help when this hospital should have taken care of our friend IMMEDIATELY and with out pause. ridiculous.
My 2nd baby girl was born in the ER. Dr Sides was awesome!! The bill was so affordable for a guy without insurance. It was an in and out delivery. Great experience for having to go to the ER. Walk in clinic is great too.
The medical services have been very good for me - I am one of many I've talked to who never use Regional Health again.
While I was waiting in the middle of the large room I could see one doorway and could see when the patient had walked out... as I started to stand up (I''m in no way infirm) the staffer sprang up & left the room!
Since there is one door and no window in these two rooms you have to watch both doors carefully - sometimes for long time.
I have used the Fall River Clinic more than 6 times. The only wait I have ever had there was for the 'check in'. They could use more people ready to help out there when needed.
I had to wait again (20 Minutes) to get checked in...they have two small rooms at the side of the waiting area where check in occurs. There may be only one staffed & there is one chair in those rooms for the patient to check in.
A few minutes spent analyzing the traffic flow & visibility of the check in area would be wise - a sign & a place to wait close to those two rooms would be an option and/or putting windows (so you can see both rooms at a glance) would help this bottleneck.
