Eventually server came back and took order for food. Food took almost 60 minutes to come out (again, maybe 3 other tables in entire restaurant). We ordered chicken fried steak, salads, burgers and the special filet. We got the last filet special and she said the prime rib had not been thawed out so it was not available (really!?)
Seemed like a neat atmosphere, but maybe they are more concerned with brewing beer than serving customers?
Server was nice, but inattentive and slow. She maybe had 1 other table. Took a while to take drink order and then very long to get first drinks (pop for kids and beers for adults). Had to ask a couple times for water for adults. Not much for recommendations on beer choices.
Beer selection is great, and should have something for all tastebuds.
The guest tap beers are better than the house beers. I wasn't overly impressed with any of the beers brewed in house. Hopefully the head brewed will get the process in order and put out better brews. Nothing was necessarily bad, just not great.
We arrived on a Tuesday at 5:30 with 4 adults and 6 teenagers. Maybe 12 other guests in entire place that could seat probably 100+. Surprisingly hostess was flustered at us having 10 in our party. Took almost 10 minutes to pull 2 tables together.
Food was fine, but dull. Filet special was not great steak, but fine. Other item were fine, but nothing special.
After we finished our first round of drinks (practically by arrival of food), server only came back for more drink orders after we were all empty for a while. My wife ordered wine (as she doesn't like beer) and after 15 minutes of waiting and asking server at least once about hold up, server said that bartender was getting it. Finally 5 minutes later wife went to bar to ask about it. Bartender was wiping down bar. You could tell he knew about wine order, but gave attitude saying: "Yeah, I guess I could get that".
Food was good. Sirloin tips done perfectly medium rare. Nice selection of sides. Service great. Like the scratch cooking. Didn't have room for dessert but they looked good. Mammoth dark beer excellent.
Overall, not bad and fills a local void of craft brews. I'll return when in the area.
Atmosphere is nice enough, but the service was mediocre and the food was sub par. We got the Rocky mountain oysters, calamari, a house salad, and a cup of creamy chicken and potato soup. The server seemed high, school she kept forgetting where she was mid sentence. I.e. "I see 19. And 20. Are blank on the beer menu, are they rotating or do you not have them right now?" "Wait, what?" "*repeats myself* *points*" "oh, uh, yeah" or later "what is your soup?" "It's creamy chicken and.... Uhh, wait, which?" "The soup" "potato".
calamari and oysters have the same breading and the same generic cocktail sauce, I'd go with the calamari if you're dying for seafood. The oysters were chewy and the breading is so overwhelmingly seasoned that they basically taste like chicken strips. The salad was good, tasted fresh. The soup was more like mashed potatoes, and had a hair in it. She brought us another cup that we didn't ask for, which was probably from the same pot. She did ask how everything was (which by the end was just the salad and the calamari, neither of which got finished because our appetites we're pretty ruined). She did not, however, apologize for the quality and actually scoffed/giggled when I sent back the oysters and the soup. We only stayed for one beer, the kolsch, it was good and the glassware was clean. She had also refilled our glass of coke in a timely manner. The oysters and the soup were on the tab when she handed it to us, so I went up to the bar and explained what had happened to a manager, who apologized and politely removed the items. Id give it a 3 but it loses an extra point for not living up to the hype. I would have expected this in a crummy dive, but we were really hoping for the fun, lively atmosphere, and the awesome made from scratch food the website advertises. Honestly if our server had been a little friendlier or seemed like she cared at all it might have been a more enjoyable experience.
Food was good. Service was decent, but not enough staff for coverage to offer proper service. I can't blame the servers for that. Our server treated us very well but stretched way to thin. The hard work by staff was obvious and impressive. Management should take note.
Recommended by our hotel. Menu looks good with lots of creative burgers and probably 20 beers.
An amazing place for lunch, or dinner or what have you. Food was very well done, burger was perfectly cooked, toppings on the side for picky eaters. Steak was great and done to perfection, as was the macronni according to my 4 year old...haha.
Staff is very friendly, quick, but don't over bug you either which is nice, but my drink never hit bottom.
